If you have the pleasure of owning a Subaru vehicle, then you know that one of the greatest pleasures of driving it comes in not knowing what to expect next. Models like the 2016 Subaru Outback are designed to take Lakehurst drivers on an adventure through any terrain you can imagine, and we at Lester Glenn Subaru are excited to support the automaker in its efforts to improve the world we live in, giving our customers more areas to explore and enjoy.

Subaru of America, Inc., has teamed up with lifestyle apparel brand United By Blue (UBB) to host six waterway cleanup endeavors throughout the country over the next year in an effort to keep the world’s oceans and rivers trash-free. UBB has committed to removing one pound of trash from selected oceans and waterways for each product sold while the Subaru brand will serve as the official vehicle supporting the cleanup events by transporting supplies along with thousands of volunteers. The organizations share a joint goal of exceeding 250,000 pounds of trash removal from the world’s waterways by the end of the year.

Our staff at Lester Glenn Subaru is proud to represent an automaker that is not only dedicated to but actively taking steps to improve the world around us, and we’re thrilled to watch the automaker and UBB make great progress in cleaning and enhancing the waterways that keep our world healthy and beautiful. UBB has a successful history of environmental initiatives with 130 cleanups under its belt throughout 21 states, removing 243,843 pounds of trash in total from streams, rivers, beaches and creeks.

Cleanup efforts began in July at the Patapsco River in Ellicott City, Md., and will continue to the following locations:

  • Jordan River in Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio
  • Brandywine Creek in Kennett Square, Pa.
  • Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
  • Detroit, Mich.
