August is back to school month for millions of families throughout the country, and Lester Glenn Subaru is eager to do its part to help kids get in gear for the school year ahead.
Throughout the month of August, our staff at Lester Glenn Subaru has hosted a book donation event in partnership with The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). As a result of the partnership, our Toms River Subaru dealership and the AAAS will be donating award-winning science books to a local school after the end of the month. In addition, each book included in the donation has been chosen as either a winner or a finalist in the SB&F (Science Books & Films) Prize for Excellence in Science Books.
Community members who are interested in contributing to the Lester Glenn Subaru book donation event are invited to donate a book to a local education partner through our dealership. But that’s not your only opportunity to give back. Our staff at Lester Glenn Subaru is also proud to contribute to the Cell Phones for Soldiers initiative, which provides servicemen and –women with an opportunity to call home from overseas.
All you have to do is donate a gently used phone at our dealership in Toms River, the proceeds of which are then used to buy calling cards for our military men and women. Visit our Subaru dealership at 1501 Route 37 West in Toms River, N.J., to leave your gently used cell phone in the Cell Phones for Soldiers drop box. The program accepts cell phones from any carrier and while operating phones are preferred, proceeds from recycling outdated or broken devices are still useful.
