Last month, Subaru of America, Inc. announced that through its 2016 Share the Love Event, it had donated more than $23.4 million to national and local charities across the country. Throughout the lifetime of the program, it has donated more than $94 million. The Share the Love event is held at the end of each year and during the event, the Subaru brand donates $250 for each new Subaru vehicle sold or leased. The money is donated to a host of charitable partners that are selected by the Subaru customer. 2016 marks the ninth-annual Share the Love event and it continued the brand’s contribution to four national charities: ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America, and National Park Foundation. In addition, each dealership was able to choose a hometown charity to benefit. Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing, Subaru of America, Inc., had this to say about the event:
For the ninth consecutive year, we are proud to honor our continued commitment to supporting the causes our customers care most about through the Subaru Share the Love event. Since its inception, Subaru has donated more than $94 million to our national and hometown charity partners through the program and we look forward to witnessing how the latest contribution will positively impact communities all across the country.
