Just a couple weeks ago, our team at our Toms River, NJ Subaru dealership, was thrilled and proud to learn that the Subaru brand was honored as the “Best Overall Mainstream Brand” Residual Value Award winner by ALG, which is the analytics division of TrueCar Inc. The ALG Residual Value award is the industry benchmark for projecting future vehicle values and depreciation data. Along with the Best Overall Mainstream Brand honor, the Subaru brand earned a total of seven ALG awards, including six models topping their respective segments.
The 2017 Subaru Impreza was named Best Compact Car, 2017 Subaru WRX was the Best Sports Car, and the 2017 Subaru Legacy is the Best Midsize Car, while the 2017 Subaru Forester earned the Best Compact Utility Vehicle rating, the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek earned the Best Subcompact Utility Vehicle, and the 2017 Subaru Outback was named the Best Midsize Utility Vehicle. Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer at Subaru of America, Inc., had this to say about the honors:
Subaru strives to consistently offer reliable vehicles that our customers trust to transport their families safely, while retaining their value for years to come. It’s truly an honor to be recognized once again with the prestigious ‘Best Overall Mainstream Brand’ award from ALG alongside amazing accolades for our individual vehicles.
The annual ALG Residual Value Awards honor those vehicles and brands that are expected to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional three-year period. Jim Nguyen, president of ALG, had this to say about the awards:
Residual values are a key indicator of the overall market success and health of a vehicle and brand. Whether a consumer is looking to purchase or lease a vehicle, the largest cost consideration is how much a vehicle will retain its value over time.
