This year marks the 50th anniversary of Subaru setting up shop in the United States, and to celebrate, the automaker is planning on showing off a number of special 50th Anniversary Edition trims for 2018 Subaru models at this year’s Chicago Auto Show.
Kicking off this weekend in the Windy City, the Chicago Auto Show will be graced with the presence of all the major Subaru vehicles this year, including the 2018 Subaru Outback, 2018 Subaru Forester, 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, 2018 Subaru Legacy, 2018 Subaru Impreza, 2018 Subaru WRX, 2018 Subaru WRX STI, and 2018 Subaru BRZ. All of them will launch in a new Heritage Blue exterior paint color and will include special badging, the latter of which features the Subaru logo in silver, gold and of course that same Heritage Blue.
The interiors of these models will feature leather upholstery with silver stitching and special embroidered logos, while the wheels also will receive special silver finishes.
The plan is only to release 1,050 examples of most models, with some planning runs of as few as 200, so you may have a hard time getting your hands on one here at Lester Glenn Subaru. That doesn’t mean Toms River, NJ customers should give up all hope, however, and at the very least we can appreciate the time and energy the automaker has put into developing these commemorative models.
If you would like to drive any of the standard versions of these vehicles, come pay us a visit here any time and we’ll be happy to get you behind the wheel for a test drive. Aside from the aesthetic differences, these cars perform exactly the same as the special editions set to appear this weekend in Chicago.
