Best Resale Value Awards are presented to 2016 model-year vehicles in recognition of their projected retained value throughout a five-year ownership period. A vehicle’s depreciation is the leading expense associated with a driver’s ownership experience, and the Best Resale Value Awards honor those vehicles that go farthest in preserving excellent value over time. The awards are also shared with the public as a means of helping new car shoppers make smarter car-buying decisions.
This year’s awards captured the 14th year that Kelley Blue Book® Official Residual Value Guide projections have assisted the organization in providing in-market car buyers with the information they need to make a decision that will benefit their happiness and wallets in the long term.
Kelley Blue Book® Residual Value data is gathered by automotive analysts after a careful review of statistical models gleaned from millions of transactions. Award winners are ultimately those vehicles that receive the highest five-year residual value figures, which is presented as a percentage of their initial Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRPs).
